Hong Kong Trip to Sai Kung Fishing District

After my almost month-long hiatus in blogging, I am back. What has kept me from blogging? A wonderful trip to my hometown in the Philippines, where I got to see a lot of my good friends, and an exciting sight-seeing trip to Hong Kong. I was able to see some of the tourist spots, but what I really loved were those unique, local areas just filled with texture, and cool things to see!
Introducing Sai Kung, a town that had evolved from a fishing village. It's definitely a wonderful place for eating fresh seafood!
Life is pretty simple at Sai Kung.
This place totally reminded me of markets Anthony Bourdain visits on his exotic travels.
From clams...
...to stingrays...
...to geoducks...
...and to more seafood I can't even identify.
Look at the size of that crab!!! :o
I thought the town was quaint.
People just relaxing by the harbour. And of course, the ever present Octopus-card parking spot. I love the Octopus card.
Now that is a vintage bike.
Fresh from a bakery were pineapple buns (po lo pao).
It was really hot and humid that day, so we had yogurt. Nothing beats mangoes. Love.
Totally fell in love with Sai Kung's textures and cultures. Hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. :)
