Trip to Drumheller: Dinosaur Museum

Trip to Drumheller: Dinosaur Museum

Just last week we had the chance to visit Drumheller, Dino land! Chase has been into dinosaurs a lot and frankly so am I… so it was so fun to go and visit this historical place.

It’s about an hour and a half drive from Calgary, so our families set off fairly early. We did book our tickets earlier as we were afraid we wouldn’t be able to get in, thankfully we did! Arrived around 11AM at the Royal Tyrell Museum and they were no longer taking any people in. The drive to Drumheller was really nice. We were flanked with beautiful barley fields, and then heading into the valley, the Badlands, was incredible. We felt like we were going to Jurassic Park, haha! Michelle even played some soundtracks to set the mood.

Definitely highly recommend this place! Ideally we would’ve come on a weekend, but it was the only time all of us were available. It was pretty busy on the inside and with the kiddos, it’s hard to really stop and read every single exhibit. I wish we could’ve stayed longer. There’s also outdoor activities and stuff but I think we’ll do them when Chase is a bit older.

I didn’t know that Alberta has the most diverse dinosaur discoveries!

It was so cool being able to see all the exhibits and learn about how some of the items were discovered. I loved that you could go through time and see what the animals were like at various points, and of course our favorite section was the dinosaurs part! I wish we got the chance to dig around, too! So cool. haha! I made a little video to showcase our trip.

xoxo,
