Tofino Babymoon Trip 2022 Day 3

Tofino Babymoon Trip 2022 Day 3

Last full day in Tofino! We started the day with a beautiful cloudy morning with some sunshine peeking through. The tide was extra low today and we discovered that the Mackenzie beach had a little sandbar that gets completely uncovered during the low tide and we got to walk directly to the rock!

Day 3: Exploring Tofino and area!

We started the day with some coffee/tea and donuts at Rhino. If there’s one thing I’d say - that both Rhino and Tofitian didn’t have great pastries/donuts lol. The coffee/tea is okay but the pastries aren’t to die for. I brought fruits on our trip (C was laughing at me for bringing an entire watermelon) but it was so good to have that as a snack in between meals.

After grabbing our morning coffee/tea, we explored the Mackenzie beach which was just outside our cabin. We noticed that the tide was so low so the sandbar was visible. So we walked and explored the area as much as we could - saw so many hermit crabs and starfish and all sorts of marine life. We’re in the middle of summer here in Canada but Tofino was definitely still cold - we wore jackets the entire time. We didn’t even end up putting on any sunscreen the entire trip! The beaches here are great for surfing but not so much for just hanging around and getting a tan haha. We just explored in our regular attire.

Then we went to downtown Tofino again to walk around. Had lunch at Big Daddy Fish Fry which had the yummiest fish and chips! It was also Saturday so they had a little public market we got to explore. Then, we drove down the coast to check out the various beaches and hit up some spots.

Long Beach

This beach was sooooo long, like 10km long! You need a park pass to park, and somebody was so nice and lent us theirs. We got to watch some people surfing which we thought was really cool. Chase enjoyed writing stuff on the sand.

Rainforest Trail

We did one of 2 forest trails, about 1km long, and so proud that Chase did it without getting carried! Got to enjoy seeing trees and plants and streams of water. The trail was well-built and had stairs and all.

We spent the evening having takeout dinner from Wildside Grill which was delicious and had great portions, right on one of the fire pits at Ocean Village. It was a bit chilly, so the firepit was very nice. Later on, another family sat in the neighboring firepits and gave Chase some bubbles and that really made his evening. He had so much fun!

Then, we headed out again to Mackenzie Beach to finish up the night exploring as usual :) During our evening prayer time, Chase prayed and said

Dear Jesus, thank you for today. Thank you for giving us this special trip. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

I started crying and Chase was like, Mommy why are you crying? I’ve been feeling extra emotional these days knowing that these are my last few weeks having only Chase, all the mom guilt knowing my time, love, patience will be divided even more and I just hugged him and said it’s because I love you so much. And he gave me a blow kiss to make me laugh. It was such a sweet, tender moment that I will forever treasure.

Oh dear Chase, I thank God that he made me your mommy. Because of you I learned how to love selflessly, to think aside from myself, to be patient even when I don’t have the patience. Thank you for loving me and your daddy the way you do. Thank you for being your unique self - our little fruit-loving, no-chocolate, super silly, homebody, sweetie-pie that remembers so much we can’t keep up. Thank you for telling us your stories with so much vigor. We love seeing you play with your cars and you telling endless stories about them, and your imaginary friends lakso, bako and bano and whoever else. We love you so so much. We look forward to seeing you become a big brother and treasure your baby sister :)

xoxo, Mommy and Daddy
